The young management team Uli Merkel receives an explosive order from the general management of his company: he is supposed to get back the lost technology designs of his predecessor Heiner Rudolf. The fact that this is an order to steal intellectual property does not initially bother Uli, after all he expects success from a variety of career opportunities and the implementation of his own ideas. However, things develop differently. After his designs and suggestions were rejected, Heiner retired to the island of Rügen. He lives bitterly in isolation on the island of Rügen and works as an undertaker. After initial problems, a relationship of trust develops between the two protagonists. In the interviews Heiner reveals that the management did not want to use his ideas. However, since Heiner continued to strongly advocate his ideas, the leadership pushed him out of the combine. Now Uli is also starting to rethink. He realizes that his suggestions have also been rejected by the leadership. When he returns to Berlin, he finds that his partner has an affair with his best friend. Now Uli is ready to throw everything down. Angry, he confronts his superiors. Although he tries again to convince Uli of the correctness of his order, Uli can no longer be used. He travels to the island of Rügen again and entrusts Heiner with the real reasons for his first trip. Gerhard appears symbolic at this very moment and can convince Heiner to come back to Berlin with him. Uli remains alone in the cemetery and completes Heiner's pit. (Source: Wikipedia)
