Gunter Friedrich

Gunter Friedrich (born August 1, 1938 in Zwickau) is a German film director. From 1962 to 1965 he completed acting training in the DFF's youth studio. He graduated from the Ernst Busch University of Dramatic Arts in Berlin with the stage entrance qualification. From 1965 he worked for five years both as an actor and as a director on various theater stages in the GDR. It was not until 1970 that he switched to film directing at the DFF. Until 1984 he initially made various children's films for television. From 1985 to 1991 Friedrich was active as a director in the field of "television drama" for television in the GDR and, among other things, shot various episodes of the series Police Call 110 and The Public Prosecutor has the floor.
